English – The Official Language?

Why is it that Nancy Pelosi is blocking a bill that would make English the official language of the United States?  Because she wants to make sure Hispanics vote for her in any upcoming election?  I don’t think she understands that her actions, and those actions of her political friends, are part of the ethos that is slowly destroying our country.

Soon, we will have no borders, and those elements that truly define our great nation will be lost. And they will be lost because our legislators, like Nancy Pelosi and Harry (The Body) Reid, are more concerned about their re-election campaigns and maintaining power than they are about retaining our national integrity.

In the name of tolerance, we are descending into chaos. Matthew 25: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to  desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.”

We are not saying that one cannot have a different opinion on government policy.  But when legislators attempt to erase the very ties that bind us together, you have to ask “What are the ulterior motives here?” I am afraid the motives reflect the desire for personal gain rather than unifying our nation.

Welcome to The Christian Political Conservative!  The basic purpose for the creation of The Christian Political Conservative is to clarify conservative Christian beliefs on the great issues and debates in our culture and in the world today.  We will look at election issues, both national and local, and we will look at candidates as well, all from a Christian perspective and backed by scripture.

Our nation is in a state of decline, largely due to the effects of the liberal agenda on our society. It is true that great nations are not “murdered from without, but commit suicide from within”.  We are committing suicide.  Unless something is done the United States may well pass into oblivion and the ideals of our Founding Fathers and the freedoms we enjoy will disappear forever.

It is The Christian Political Conservative’s observation that many politicians who profess to be Christians advocate both biblical and unbiblical positions depending on circumstances.  Some are pro-life and support Planned Parenthood as well.   Others teach their children how to manage money and how to budget, but then are the worst abusers of pork-barrel politics.  Some give powerful speeches about “protecting the American Way of Life”, but then do nothing about protecting our borders.

Political expediency should not be the basis for a Christian campaign for office, nor should it be a means for remaining in office.  Rather, Christian principles based firmly on The Bible should be the basis for all Christian political views and actions.  Luke 21:15 “. . . for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist.”

The Christian Political Conservative believes that most Americans would prefer Christian politicians governing our country, or at least those politicians who profess Christian principles.  This is not to advocate a Christian theocracy, although we do look forward to Christ’s return and His reign on earth.  The First Amendment to the Constitution states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion”.  But this amendment does NOT prohibit Christians from participating in government, it does NOT create a “wall of separation” between religion and the state, nor does it prohibit the advocacy and adoption of Christian principles in government. Indeed, Christians NEED to be outspoken in politics, but humbly and with the Bible’s truth on their side.

Almost 80% of Americans say they are Christians.  And for Christians, the Bible is the greatest moral code ever written as well the primary statement of the path to our salvation.  This is the reason why most of our founding fathers were Christians, and based their beliefs and the founding documents of our country on the Bible.

For this reason, The Christian Political Conservative believes that many more Christian politicians would be elected and would remain in office of they were true to Christian ideals during their campaigns and while they were in office.  Americans hunger for righteous leaders.  They hunger for those leaders with faith and the strength of principle to stand by that faith in the face of difficulty, even if that means taking unpopular stands.  Even if it means ignoring polls.

It is the goal of The Christian Political Conservative to elucidate those Christian ideals from a political and social perspective for Christians in public positions and for all Christians.
